Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Boston Children's Hospital Health Technology Department (HTM) is seeking a motivated and talented HTM Technician to join our team. The Health Technology Management department at Boston Children's Hospital manages all the medical devices throughout the entire enterprise. There are nearly 30,000 devices actively in use ranging from thermometers to CT scanners. This position is best suited for candidates with biomedical, electrical, mechanical engineering or related experiences who are eager to utilize their hands-on experiences with working with biomedical devices in a clinical environment. As an HTM technician, you will assist our department in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of medical equipment to ensure optimal performance and patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs routine repairs on a broad range of electromechanical medical equipment using basic test equipment and repair tools. Prepares and maintains related documentation.
  • Performs preventative maintenance testing of routine electromechanical medical equipment according to established procedures.
  • Understands medical device regulations and ensures assigned medical devices are managed in compliance with those regulations.
  • Participates in inspection tours of clinical and/or research areas using medical equipment.
  • Documents all service actions and complies with documentation guidelines and metrics defined in department policy.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships and independently manages clinical resource area(s).
  • Acts as a technical resource for clinical customer base. Consults and collaborates with peers to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Provides excellent customer service, defining problems, developing solutions, and performing follow-up. Keeps customers apprised of statuses and estimated completion dates.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:

Associate's Degree or equivalent experience is required.
Occupationally specific education or Biomedical Engineering or a closely related area of study is required.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
