POSITION SUMMARY:

With direct supervision, you will learn and perform the various aspects of the function by:

  • Acquiring knowledge of various department's operations, functions, responsibilities, and workflow.

  • Observing work assignments performed by others and actively participate in hands-on projects and/or special assignments.

  • Maintaining communication with program coach/mentor to provide feedback on departmental assignments and program improvements.

  • Attending related training and applying it in work assignments.

  • Performing other related responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uses advanced quality and continuous improvement quality engineering principles to enhance product quality, reliability, and acceptance. Suggests and implements improvement ideas covering products designs, system processes, and hardware processing.
  • Prevents problems by assessing and qualifying the capability of the product design, manufacturing, and preventative action systems

  • Implements quality plans and monitors detection systems

  • Evaluates performance of the product design, manufacturing quality and reliability systems

  • Implements corrective actions and solves problems that affect quality, manufacturability, and product reliability

  • Provides customer/vendor and management interface on quality, process, and manufacturing systems

  • Conducts and supports audits on special processes and quality management system

  • Updates quality system documentation in support of audits and customer requests

  • Ensure development teams maintain focus on customer quality system and product quality requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires sophomore, junior, or senior standing in mechanical or material science engineering program.

Physical Requirements

  • Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.

  • Pay Range: $20.52/hr to $34.2/hr
