POSITION SUMMARY: Ensures compliance with AS9100, government and regulatory requirements by planning and conducting internal/external audits, evaluating process effectiveness, documenting findings, driving corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing and business operations. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the quality management system (QMS) across functions, ensuring processes align with requirements, documentation is current, and stakeholders follow defined controls consistently.
- Maintain and continually improve the quality management system by monitoring performance, identifying gaps, implementing updates, and verifying sustained effectiveness through metrics.
- Ensure the quality management system conforms to AS9100 requirements by interpreting standard clauses, guiding implementation, and confirming compliance through objective evidence.
- Coordinate internal and external audits by developing schedules, preparing areas, ensuring auditor readiness, gathering evidence, and tracking findings to closure on time.
- Write, revise, and control policies and procedures supporting the quality management system, ensuring clarity, usability, compliance, and timely updates across departments.
- Oversee corrective action systems by reviewing issue investigations, verifying root cause analysis, approving action plans, monitoring implementation, and confirming effectiveness of solutions.
- Coordinate regulatory audits (FAA, EASA, DCMA, CAAC, UK CAA, and others) by managing audit communications, organizing records, facilitating onsite activities, and ensuring timely responses.
- Support management review by collecting required inputs, preparing agendas and reports, documenting outputs, assigning actions, and tracking completion and effectiveness.
- Acts as a liaison between quality function and customer/supplier quality representatives by gathering and providing information; and coordinating meetings.
- Provides information to leadership by reporting nonconformance, observations, trends, and quality-related concerns.
- Support peer audits and QMS assignments across divisional sites, collaborating with local teams, sharing best practices, and traveling as needed to execute audits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in quality systems and auditing.
- AS9100 knowledge and practical application experience required.
- ASQ Lead Auditor certification (AS9100/ISO 9001) or related ASQ preferred.
- Strong understanding of regulatory audits (FAA, DCMA) and expectations.
- Ability to interpret standards and identify objective evidence.
- High Proficiency with MS Office and quality systems software.
- Able to travel to divisional sites for peer audits.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to compliance and ethics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Considerable knowledge of and understanding of the quality audit process, manufacturing methods, and techniques. Knowledge of a wide variety of inspection equipment and methods related to quality planning. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, methods, and standards. Ability to apply advanced skills in quality audit process. Ability to adapt procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs.
- Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (e.g. process mapping, design-to-production automation). Ability to work on assignments that are complex where considerable judgement and initiative is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
- Ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to other non-exempt or hourly personnel. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. May require ability to use standard business software applications and/or specialized data analysis, or database tools.
Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints and to effectively communicate and present findings and recommendations to team members, team leaders, suppliers and/or customers. Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

- Pay Range: $87050 to $145250 annually
