Collections Analyst

Our client, a professional services firm in Kansas City, is seeking an experienced Collections Analyst to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, follow-up, and relationship management are key.

This position will partner closely with attorneys, billing teams, and clients to monitor receivables, resolve outstanding balances, research account activity, and support timely collections. The right candidate will bring strong Excel skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage collection efforts professionally while maintaining positive client relationships.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor accounts receivable and work-in-process activity to identify collection trends and past due accounts
  • Partner with attorneys and internal teams on collection strategies while maintaining strong client relationships
  • Contact clients regarding outstanding balances and follow up until payment is received
  • Document client activity, communications, payment updates, and account status
  • Review accounts receivable for disputed line items and assist with resolution
  • Prepare and submit appeals to clients while ensuring responses are completed by required deadlines
  • Work closely with the billing department to ensure invoices are submitted according to client requirements
  • Serve as a financial liaison between the firm and its clients
  • Assist with collections efforts outside of the Kansas City office as needed
  • Support the billing team and assist with other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Previous accounts receivable or collections experience required
  • Experience within a law firm, professional services firm, or insurance-related environment is strongly preferred
  • Legal eBilling experience is beneficial, but not required
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with reporting, account research, and detailed financial information
  • Ability to navigate eBilling portals and work with varying client requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
  • Proactive approach with the ability to research, problem-solve, and follow through
  • Comfortable working under deadlines and managing multiple priorities


Compensation & Schedule

  • Schedule: Hybrid, with Mondays and Tuesdays in office
  • Location: Kansas City, MO area
