****THIS IS A NIGHT SHIFT POSITION****
****SATURDAY-WEDNESDAY***** *Description* The Onsite Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety programs on active commercial construction projects. This role works directly in the field to promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards, and proactively identify and mitigate jobsite hazards. The Safety Coordinator serves as a key liaison between project teams, subcontractors, and management to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Key Roles & Responsibilities Safety Program Implementation - Enforce company safety policies, site-specific safety plans, and OSHA regulations on active jobsites - Assist with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) - Ensure all jobsite activities comply with federal, state, and local safety regulations Jobsite Monitoring & Inspections - Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and hazard assessments - Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors; initiate corrective actions promptly - Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel - Monitor high-risk activities such as trenching, scaffolding, fall protection, confined spaces, and crane operations Incident Prevention & Response - Lead or assist with accident, incident, and near-miss investigations - Document findings and develop corrective and preventative action plans - Ensure incidents are reported according to company policy and regulatory requirements - Support emergency response procedures and coordinate first aid/medical response when necessary Training & Orientation - Deliver ongoing safety training, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses (JHAs) - Track and maintain safety training records and certifications - Promote worker engagement and accountability through safety awareness initiatives Subcontractor Coordination - Review subcontractor safety plans, JHAs, and compliance documentation - Hold subcontractors accountable for adherence to safety requirements - Participate in subcontractor coordination meetings to address safety concerns - Issue safety notices or stop-work recommendations when necessary Documentation & Reporting - Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, safety meetings, and corrective actions - Prepare safety reports for project management and company leadership - Assist with regulatory inspections and audits (OSHA, owner, or third-party) - Support project closeout with safety documentation Collaboration & Communication - Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to integrate safety into daily operations - Serve as a visible safety presence on the jobsite to encourage open communication - Promote a proactive safety culture focused on prevention rather than reaction Required Qualifications - 2-5+ years of safety experience in commercial construction or related field - Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926) - OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (required) - Ability to identify jobsite hazards and implement corrective measures - Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications - OSHA 500/510, CHST, ASP, or CSP certification - Experience working on large-scale commercial or multi-trade projects - Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred - Familiarity with safety management software and reporting tools *Skills* Construction, Safety, Communication and people skills, OSHA 30, OSHA 500, CHST, ASP, CSP, Project coordination, communication & people skills *Top Skills Details* Construction,Safety,Communication and people skills,OSHA 30 *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Core Competencies - Attention to detail and strong observational skills - Leadership and conflict resolution - Professional judgment and integrity - Proactive problem-solving - Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives Physical & Work Environment Requirements - Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions - Ability to walk jobsites, climb ladders, and access elevated or confined areas - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required - Willingness to travel between job sites as needed *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
