The Plant Manager supports and guides critical operations within the plant on a day-to-day basis and serves as the primary bridge for the location. This position collaborates with all associates engaged in middle management roles, administrative, production, distribution, driving, and repackaging compressed and liquid gases into cylinders. You will ensure work procedures align with production schedules, using your knowledge of machine and equipment capacities to pioneer efficient workflows. Ideally, you bring a mindful approach to the financial budget for the location, ensuring the plant remains aligned with the annual goals set forth on a monthly basis.

  • We prioritize the commitment to company policies, including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.

  • Ensure all injuries and accidents are thoughtfully investigated and reported within 24 hours. Participates and completes SHIELD training as required.

  • Ensures safety rules are consistently upheld and that safety training is regularly scheduled, conducted, and documented to foster a secure environment.

  • Operates and safely maintains equipment for distribution, pumping, or repackaging gases into cylinders while ensuring alignment with all federal, state, local, and company policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.

  • Contributes to ensuring the plant is kept neat, clean, and orderly for the collective well-being of the team.

  • Reviews production and distribution schedules to plan team capacity and requirements for the successful completion of assignments.

  • Manages scheduling and coordinates overtime in the timekeeping system. We look for a leader who maintains hours within the established budget while managing attendance and time-off requests in a way that is consistent and equitable for the team.

  • Provides supportive leadership to all levels of associates in the plant including; positive motivation and performance development, coaching, providing regular feedback, and fostering understanding of shared goals through regular team meetings.

  • Welcomes, supports, and grows the necessary team within your plant to achieve positive collective results.

  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure seamless connection with customer service requirements and expectations.

  • Provides coaching and performance alignment promptly, ensuring that areas for development are identified, documented, and supported toward acceptable performance, or transitioned if necessary.

  • Mentors new employees and encourages cross-training among associates to maintain production during personnel shortages. Supports associates at branches on scheduled delivery and automated branch replenishments of min/max cylinder requirements.

  • Provides appropriate training to plant and branch personnel to ensure adequate and consistent production levels are meeting customer demands.

  • Airgas associates are expected to act with care, adapt to our environment and engage to trust and grow - core tenets within the Be, Act, Engage framework of employee performance.

  • All employees are expected to perform any reasonable work request that falls within the qualifications but not specifically described.

________________________ Are you a MATCH? Required Qualifications:
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

  • Experience and working knowledge of cylinder fill operations.

  • Must be able to perform the duties of each position within the operations facility.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred with a Business Degree recommended.

  • At least 3-5 years' experience in production planning, DOT, FDA, SMS, and cylinder maintenance.

  • Experience using SAP or similar software systems is recommended.

  • Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.

The hourly base pay range for this position in Washington is $100,000 /yr. Please note that the hourly base pay information is a general guideline only. Airgas considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
