The Enterprise Architecture Group delivers business value by defining, driving, and governing Key's overall technology direction and strategy. By leveraging industry standards, the enterprise architecture group facilitates innovation and enables rapid business capability deployment. The group facilitates the vision, principles, standards, and processes that guide the purchase, design, and deployment of technology at Key across the application architecture, data architecture, and infrastructure architecture areas.

About the Job

The Lead Enterprise Architect (with infrastructure focus) defines target-state and implementation architectures for Key's most critical initiatives, aligning business strategy, application and data architecture, and the underlying technology platforms (cloud, network, compute, storage, and automation) required to deliver them. This role partners with business and technology leaders to establish domain strategies, reference architectures, standards, and guardrails that enable secure, resilient, scalable solutions. The Enterprise Architect also participates in governance-reviewing and influencing architecture decisions for critical delivery projects to ensure alignment to enterprise principles, risk posture, and long-term roadmaps.

Essential Job Functions

General:

  • Develops enterprise architecture options, including infrastructure impacts, with clear cost/benefit, risk, and tradeoff analysis.
  • Defines and communicates target-state roadmaps aligned to business strategy and organizational readiness.
  • Influences architecture decisions across teams through facilitation, data-driven recommendations, and consensus-building.
  • Balances strategic and tactical needs by evaluating tradeoffs across business outcomes, delivery constraints, and long/short-term platform considerations.
  • Operates independently, driving architecture outcomes while partnering effectively across product, engineering, security, and infrastructure teams.
  • Participates in architecture governance by reviewing and influencing architecture for critical delivery projects (application, data, and infrastructure).
  • Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models
  • Drives innovation by identifying opportunities to modernize platforms and reduce complexity through standardization and automation.
  • Communicates complex architecture concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Synthesizes the "big picture" across domains while guiding teams on the key details needed for secure, resilient implementation.
  • Leads cross-functional working sessions and architecture reviews to drive alignment and timely decisions.
  • Navigates ambiguity by framing decisions, defining assumptions, and iterating toward an agreed target state.
  • Facilitates conflict resolution by surfacing tradeoffs, aligning on principles, and documenting decision rationale.
  • Partners with risk, security, and compliance to ensure architectures meet resiliency, control, and regulatory requirements.

Technology:

  • General skill set with wide technology coverage and specialization in few areas (flexible)
  • Cloud Technologies
  • Cloud landing zones, identity/IAM integration, and network segmentation patterns
  • Infrastructure & Platform Architecture (hybrid cloud, network, compute, storage, and platform services)
  • Automation
  • Infrastructure as Code and configuration management (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and CI/CD automation
  • Integration technologies and patterns
  • Data design and concepts
  • Security concepts
  • Resiliency engineering (HA/DR, RTO/RPO), capacity planning, and observability patterns

Business

  • Financial industry background a plus
  • Ability to speak the language of the business community and communicate well with business stakeholders
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Master's degree in technology or business desirable
  • Experience in architecting enterprise applications across the application, data and infrastructure domains
  • Experience in managing and driving enterprise architecture capabilities within a large corporation
  • Experience with Internet delivery architecture, messaging and web service architecture, sales delivery platform architectures and mobile architectures.
  • Must be a team player able to work effectively at all levels of the organization and influence others toward consensus. Demonstrates high integrity and sound judgment when handling sensitive systems, data, and architecture decisions.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $96,000.00 - $181,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
