Hiring Department

Department of Emergency Medicine

Job Description

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Missouri School of Medicine is experiencing significant growth and transformation-and we are seeking dynamic, patient-focused physicians to join our expanding Urgent Care Division. Our urgent care network is a high-performing, rapidly scaling service line, currently serving more than 85,000 patients annually across Columbia and surrounding rural communities. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team redefining front-door access to care within an academic health system. The role is 95% clinical. As the attending physician in Urgent Care, you will collaborate with our mid-level clinicians and at times supervise learners. Academic rank will be commensurate with candidate's experience and career goals. Considering joining our team if you want to practice in a collaborative, team-based environment alongside experienced advanced practice providers and contribute to a system recognized for innovation in patient access, throughput, and operational excellence.

MU is one of the few institutions in the country with colleges of medicine, veterinary medicine, agriculture, engineering, nursing, and health professions on one campus. The School of Medicine's more than 650 faculty physicians and scientists educate more than 1,000 medical students, residents, fellows, and other students seeking advanced degrees. We are proud to be advancing a modern, scalable urgent care model that is expanding access to high-quality care across Missouri. If you are seeking a role where you can make a measurable impact while growing your academic career, we invite you to apply
