Production Planner/Expeditor

The Production Planner/Expeditor is responsible for comprehensive production planning, material management, and expediting activities to ensure optimal manufacturing flow and on-time delivery of aerospace products. This role combines strategic production planning with tactical execution to maintain efficiency, quality standards, and regulatory compliance in aerospace discrete manufacturing operations. This is an onsite position in Sylmar, California.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain area production schedules aligned with SIOP commitments

  • Consider production resources (people, material, machines) in planning decisions

  • Release work orders to fulfill area production schedules

• Production Expediting & Flow Control

  • Monitor and track work orders through all manufacturing stages

  • Coordinate with production supervisors to prioritize jobs based on delivery requirements

  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and scheduling conflicts

  • Expedite materials, components, and work orders to meet critical deadlines

  • Ensure material flow between work centers maintains production continuity

  • Maintain traceability documentation for aerospace components

• Communication & Reporting

  • Provide production status reports and performance metrics to management

  • Coordinate with quality assurance on inspection schedules and material releases

  • Escalate critical issues with recommended solutions and corrective actions

Qualifications

• Only US Citizens, Green card holders, political asylees, or refugees are eligible to apply

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience

• 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Materials Management, Logistics, or SIOP

• APICS, CPIM, CPSM, or CPF certifications preferred (can be achieved during employment)

The base salary range for this position is $55,000-$70,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 2.5% of base salary.
