Summary
The Tecle lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Medical College of Wisconsin seeks a Research Technologist I. The lab's overarching goal is to understand innate epithelial immune responses to intracellular pathogens. To do this, we investigate the response of the C. elegans intestine to pathogen infection using genetic, cell biology, and biochemical approaches. Under the supervision of the PI, a successful candidate will support ongoing research projects and assist in laboratory management. A minimum of 1 year of prior research experience is required; 2 years of full-time research experience in an academic setting is preferred. Preference will be given to individuals with prior experience with C. elegans; however, this is not required for a successful hire. A successful hire would have previous experience maintaining accurate data records, managing lab budgets, purchasing lab supplies, preparing reagents/plates, and performing basic experimental techniques. In addition, a successful hire will have established effective communication and time management skills and demonstrated proactiveness, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic in previous positions. Competency with Word and Excel is absolutely required. The start date is flexible but must be no later than August 1st, 2026. Primary Responsibilities

Work requires occasionally lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously. Work Environment
Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment. Sensory Acuity
Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
