Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of Mechanical and Electrical equipment, such as Motors, Pumps, Turbines, Valves, and other mechanical equipment.
- Supervise and coordinate repair/plan work /or welding/burning/ bolting applications.
- Monitor the daily schedule and the master list of jobs and commitment dates. React to changes in priorities or commitment dates; communicate needed changes in work assignments to Construction Managers
- Supervise union personnel around the system and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with procedures that govern the work.
- Collaborate with Engineering ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with procedures that govern the work. ASME, DOB, DOT, AISC. etc.
- Ensure that all required documentation is accurate and completed within a timely fashion, including but not limited to emergency sketches, as-constructed drawings, time entry and Job Site Safety Evaluations.
- On a daily basis the supervisor is responsible for the safety of his or her direct reports and must monitor quality, productivity and provide feedback that will help individuals progress in their title.
- Must ensure that the Human Performance Improvements (HPI) tools are incorporated into daily work.
- Responsible for conducting On the Job Training (OJT), effective job briefings, documented safety inspections and ensures all personnel attend training as required.
- Must be committed to the Way We Work Principles and adherence to the Companys Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S).
- Provide and assist with developing a positive facility morale. Provide positive motivation to Personnel and handle employee concerns in a professional timely fashion.

Qualifications Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering Technology and 3 years of technical experience and knowledge or
- Associate's Degree Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering Technology and 4 years of technical experience and knowledge or
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant technical experience and knowledge
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Civil or Electrical Engineering and 2 years of relevant technical experience and knowledge
Relevant Work Experience
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and analyze tasks to develop detailed estimates and schedules for construction projects is required.
- Working knowledge of all applicable codes such as ACI, AISC, NESC, ASCE, NYC Building Code, etc. is required.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team to make sound technical and business decisions is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Well organized, able to balance priorities, handle multiple assignments, develop a strategic plan and take decisive action to meet deadlines is required.
- Experience interacting with stakeholders, both internal and external to the Company during normal and emergency conditions is preferred.
- Work experience in the Engineering field related to the Electric, Gas and Steam systems and associated equipment is preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of construction work associated with facilities such as Generating Stations and or Substations is preferred.

Physical Demands
- Ability to respond to system emergencies
- Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, catwalks, roofs, and/or other equipment
- Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
- Ability to be approved to wear and use either a full or half-face respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), without facial hair or other conditions that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
- Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday
- Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
- Possess the capacity to free climb ladders up to 475 feet in height
- Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
- Work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays
- Work with equipment with a manufacturer weight rating of 350lbs
- Use equipment with a maximum weight rating of 375lbs when wearing and/or carrying 25lbs of clothing and equipment
Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
