Plant Facilities Manager

The Plant Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the facility maintenance, operations, and engineering departments across 2 to 3 shifts. The Plant Engineering Manager ensures uninterrupted production operations through the management of breakdown support, facility maintenance, facility upgrade project management and general facilities engineering services. This role is responsible to ensure adequate working conditions for all employees. The Plant Engineering Manager coordinates and prioritizes both internal maintenance resources and purchased services as well as the coordination of plant cleaning activities through a contracted service. The Plant Engineering Manager supports Stellantis Industrial Systems (SIS) initiatives, methods and processes and manages SIS domains as appropriate. The Plant Engineering Manager is responsible for continued certification under ISO 14001 environment and ISO 50001 energy. This position is a main point of contact for development and analysis of additional business opportunities for the plant, the point person for SOX maintenance compliance and is responsible for Powerhouse, wastewater, and supplemental energy contracts. The ideal candidate will not only bring technical functional depth and credibility but must also possess the requisite executive leadership traits and business acumen to interface with the Senior Manufacturing leadership and executive management team and develop, communicate, lead, and motivate their engineering teams. In addition, the Plant Engineering Manager will lead SIS and change management initiatives including but not limited to Maintenance, Energy and Environment, with a passion for excellence and delivery in all manufacturing and business initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Lead the plant engineering team to achieve all business objectives including safety, quality, continuous improvement, production, profitability, customer service, and other internal metrics, consistent with Stellantis Industrial Systems (SIS) principles


  • Supports all aspects of production processes including safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale and drive successful implementation of SIS processes and standards.


  • Manage all facility engineers, buildings, grounds, parking lots and equipment


  • Manage engineering and capital projects


  • Manage outsourced contract and construction activities


  • Prepare project appropriations and capital plans


  • Review daily expenditures and follow up on anomalies


  • Write projects to replace, upgrade or refurbish tooling and equipment


  • Work with various disciplines to support / lead Stellantis Industrial Systems and make continuous process improvements


  • Lead the elimination of waste in all aspects of the business


  • Teach, cultivate, and promote teamwork and problem solving in a positive, proactive work environment


  • Ensure safety regulation compliance and provide a safe working environment for employees


  • Drive organizational capability by building a highly committed and capable team, coaching and mentoring incumbents and/or bringing in additional talent as needed


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a technical / engineering discipline with a minimum of 10 years of facilities operational management or related experience
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required
  • Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
  • Demonstrated ability to coach / mentor / develop team members
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing skilled and technical employees
  • Experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Experience with computer maintenance management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets
  • Knowledge of water treatment, Powerhouse, recycling, HVAC, electricity, telecommunications, and the ability to read blueprints.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
