Valiant is looking for an Electronic Technician I to join our team! You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, testing and pre-operational system check of a variety of audio and video equipment ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs preventive maintenance on all audiovisual equipment not loaned to customers.
- Notifies and coordinates with customers on loaned audiovisual equipment that are due scheduled maintenance.
- Safeguard and maintain Government furnished equipment, materials and facilities.
- Inspect, service, test and perform preventive maintenance and repair Audio Visual equipment.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for operation of the Training Support Center.
- Inspect, service, test, perform preventive maintenance and repair all audio and audio associated equipment. IAW applicable technical publications.
- Ensure the production equipment is set up and complies with industry standards, and that operation of equipment is within manufacturer's standards and specifications.
- Operate all TMDE equipment and provide technical assistance in AV productions.
- Maintain stock and inventory control of repair parts.
- Receive and inspect AV equipment upon customer return of the equipment.
- Provide technical advice to customers.
- Provide customer assistance and advice in a proficient and professional manner.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed, and Quality Control standards are met.
- Ensure adherence to Company policies, practices and procedures
- Perform cross leveling tasks as necessary, to enhance mission accomplishment.
- Work will be performed within TSC facilities and at unspecified "on-site" locations.
- Ensures safety standards, policies and procedures are followed and quality control standards are met.
- Must know supply system, basic electronic repair procedures.
- Maintains required maintenance and historical records.
- Provides data and reports as required.
- Prepare, provide and submit correspondence, reports, feeder data and information to upper management personnel as required.
- Perform cross leveling tasks as necessary to enhance/meet mission requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
SECURITY REQUIREMENT:
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
- Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) to utilize government systems.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years of experience in the maintenance, repair and operation of Audio Visual equipment/systems.
- Formal training in Electronics and/or Broadcasting Systems operation and maintenance.
- Able to operate PC with functional knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of associated software.
- Repair all electronic type tools to include industrial tools.
- Must have a valid California Driver's License.
- Capability to use and analyze the results and indication of assigned TMDE (test equipment) necessary.
- Must be able to operate and set-up computers for presentations.
- Perform AV equipment set ups and pre-operational checks before customer operation.
- Effectively assimilates verbal guidance and instructions into positive action.
- Ability to use and interpret manuals.
- Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to be punctual.
- Able to read and write in English language.
- Available for overtime as needed.
EQUIPMENT/TOOLS USED:
Test equipment utilized includes signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc. Equipment worked on and pre-operational checks performed on include, but is not limited to, cassette and video tape recorders, TV monitors, TV switchers and function generators, audio amplifiers, speakers and camcorders. Electrical tools as required to do the job. PC computer, digital projectors and associated equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
- Must have dexterity of hands.
- Must be able to distinguish color.
Shop environment, frequently outdoors. Frequent exposure to dust, desert pollen, extreme heat and cold associated with desert environment and natural conditions existing on Fort Irwin.
