Position Purpose
The Development Coordinator within the Dartmouth College Athletics and Recreation Department ( DCARD) is a critical role that supports the strategic fundraising efforts. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative, event, engagement, operational, and project support to the front-line Athletics Development team, enabling them to enhance the philanthropic success of DCARD. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development, this role will contribute to the success of Dartmouth's mission through focusing on key fundraising priorities, collaborating with internal and external partners, implementing strategies, and providing exceptional customer service to alumni, donors and friends.

Be a part of an Athletics Development team who helps our student-athletes win championships in the classroom, in athletics, in the community and life after college! This team of 5 oversees all fundraising components within Dartmouth College Athletics and Recreation, while having the support of the college's central advancement division. This role gives you the opportunity to understand athletics development, from the discovery phase all the way through stewardship and beyond. Direct access to coaches and administrators allows this position to learn how athletics development can directly impact the experience of our student-athletes. This is a great opportunity to understand impact of development and stewardship while representing a historic brand in Dartmouth College and the Ivy League Conference.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Passion for college athletics and sports.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends in support of Athletics & Recreation events, and Dartmouth Campus Initiatives.


Note: Employment will be contingent upon possession of a valid U.S. or Canadian driver's license and continued qualification as an Approved Driver under the Dartmouth College Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Policy
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in development, alumni relations, athletics administration, professional sports, event planning, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication or related field
  • Experience working in/around or participating in intercollegiate athletics, professional sports, corporate partnerships, or an equivalent combination.
  • Executing high-level donor events
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience with Adobe Suite - specifically InDesign
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Google, familiarity with CRM or donor management software - Advance, Blackbaud, Salesforce.
  • Previous use of iModulesor HubSpot email platform

Key Accountabilities


Description
Marketing/Engagement

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Athletics Development team. Including but not limited to: providing the team with monthly YTD progress towards goal and gift reports, overseeing athletics advancement communications, managing donor profiles/briefings when donor visits take place, and collaborating with central communications/marketing
  • Assist in the execution of donor stewardship and engagement strategies, including assisting with the design of mailers, impact reporting, and personalized recognition efforts.
  • Collaborate with the DCARD Strategic Communications and Marketing teams to support donor-focused digital content, collateral materials, and sports-specific information
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment to support day-to-day operations of the office.
  • Provide superior customer service to prospects, visitors, Dartmouth alumni and donors.

  • Utilize multiple CRMs while producing a high level of data management and organization to support events, communication, and fundraising.
  • Maintain and update accurate donor records in Dartmouth's donor database, track correspondence, gift activity, and event participation.

Events

  • Support the planning, logistics, and execution of Athletics fundraising events, gameday hospitality experiences, and donor cultivation opportunities. This includes coordinating logistics with internal/external vendors to ensure we provide a great donor experience at events.
  • Participate in special projects and department-wide initiatives as assigned to advance the mission of Big Green Athletics.
