Painter - JLL What this job involves:Join our facility maintenance team as a Painter, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining, protecting, and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of client facilities. In this hands-on position, you'll perform both interior and exterior painting while supporting broader operations, inspection, and maintenance processes. Working independently and collaboratively with the facilities team and third-party vendors, you'll ensure surfaces throughout the facility remain in excellent condition while adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact the visual presentation and structural integrity of the facilities we manage for our clients. Note that this position requires regular weekend availability, including Saturday or Sunday work, to meet the demands of the client's business operations. What your day-to-day will look like:Prepare and execute painting projects by assessing surface conditions, applying primers and sealers, and using various application methods including brushes, rollers, and sprayers to achieve quality finishes on interior and exterior surfaces. Communicate with clients to understand painting requirements, provide recommendations, and ensure project specifications align with their expectations and facility needs. Prepare work areas by installing scaffolding, protecting surfaces with drop cloths and masking materials, and setting up ventilators and safety equipment to maintain a safe working environment. Perform surface preparation tasks including washing, filling holes and cracks with putty, sanding surfaces smooth, and removing old finishes using scrapers, chemical compounds, or appropriate tools. Maintain equipment and materials inventory by tracking supplies such as paint brushes, rollers, tarps, and other tools, while cleaning machines and work areas using appropriate solvents and cleaning aids. Complete work orders and assignments by reviewing requirements, estimating time and material costs, and removing or reinstalling fixtures such as doorknobs and electrical switch covers as necessary. Support the broader facilities team by assisting with minor carpentry work, collaborating on maintenance and repair efforts, and ensuring all work follows safety regulations and client standards. Required Qualifications:* Demonstrated experience in professional painting with proficiency in surface preparation, paint application techniques, and use of painting tools including brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. * Strong color vision capabilities and aesthetic judgment to accurately mix, match, and apply paint, stain, and finishes according to job specifications. * Physical capability to perform demanding work including lifting, climbing scaffolding, standing for extended periods, and maintaining the stamina and dexterity required for detailed painting tasks. * Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete projects on schedule while maintaining quality standards. * Commitment to safety protocols with demonstrated knowledge of safeguards, rules, and regulations related to painting operations and facility maintenance. * Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday) on a routine basis as required by client business needs. * Excellent attention to detail and quality craftsmanship in all aspects of painting and surface finishing work. Preferred Qualifications:* Experience with scaffolding assembly and safe work-at-height practices. * Background in minor carpentry or general facility maintenance tasks to support broader team needs. * Customer service experience with ability to communicate effectively with clients, understand requirements, and provide professional recommendations. * Familiarity with estimating project costs, timelines, and material requirements for painting work. * Knowledge of proper ventilation systems and protective equipment for working with paints, solvents, and chemical compounds. * Experience working collaboratively with facilities teams or third-party vendors in commercial or industrial settings. * Understanding of inventory management practices for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment.
