Position Description

Modine's Custom Coil Product (CCP) segment is the industry leader in the supply of custom and specialized heat transfer round tube, plate fin (RTPF) coils. The Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager will report to the Operations Manager and will be the leader of continuous improvement and LEAN activities for the entire facility. Selected candidate will inherit a target rich environment and will be responsible for implementing CI/LEAN in a large organization that has lacked the resource previously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads the development of short, intermediate and long-term Lean strategies for the facility.
  • Develop and maintain current state and future state value stream maps for each value stream within the facility.
  • Serve as subject matter expert with respect to Lean practices and tools.
  • Manage the CI project list and Kaizen funnel.
  • Define key criteria for the selection and prioritization of Kaizen projects.
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to key stakeholders in the development of KPIs.
  • Ensure the establishment of and stakeholder commitments to meaningful and measurable targets for all Kaizen activities.
  • Train, mentor and guide team members in the use of Lean processes.
  • Keep up-to-date on developments in Continuous Improvement and Lean Principles.
  • Develop a culture of engagement from all levels of the business to maximize use of Lean.
  • Support preparation of business cases by analyzing data to show cost benefits of projects and assist in capital equipment requests.
  • Support operations in development of annual operating plans and budgets.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • 2-5 years minimum working in a Lean Manufacturing Environment with at least a portion of that experience in leadership roles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Lean development and implementation
  • Extensive training and application of Lean tools
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with top-notch presentation and mentoring skills
  • Dynamic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in team building
