This role is onsite at Herzing University's Birmingham Campus.

Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Operations, with a dotted line to central Academic Operations and Student Affairs, the Director of Campus Operations (DOCO) is responsible for providing leadership to campus academic administrators and faculty who support programs of study, and support staff who provide services at Herzing University. The areas which will be directly supervised by this position include the Program Chairs, Department Chairs, Student Services, Faculty, and administrative staff relevant to these functional areas.

The DOCO provides leadership and oversight to campus operations (excluding financial aid and admissions) and ensures compliance and alignment with University, Accreditation, and Regulatory Board standards, policies, and procedures. Additionally, the DOCO is responsible for the development of campus capacity and serves as a primary point of contact for the coordination of facility needs, vendor services, and the promotion of student and employee satisfaction at the campus through collaboration with other campus, regional, and functional leaders.

REQUIREMENTS:



  • Master's degree
  • Two years of educational management experience
  • Three years of Higher Education or Adult Learning experience


Preferred:



  • Doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Prior leadership experience with pre-licensure professional healthcare programs
  • Five years of professional experience in serving adult-learners
  • Two years of experience in campus operations management
  • Three yeas of experience or more in one of the following areas in Higher Education; teaching, student services, and/or accreditation



    Compensation is determined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for employees to start near the top of the salary range. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a tuition waiver and reimbursement program, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan. The salary range for this position is $110,500 to $149,500.

    Responsibilities include (This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements associated with the job):



    • Serves as the senior leader of campus operations, fostering a positive, inclusive environment aligned with university standards and expectations.
    • Oversees hiring, onboarding, development, and performance management of assigned campus personnel in collaboration with program and university leadership.
    • Manages and monitors campus-level goals related to instructional costs, student retention, and student and employee satisfaction.
    • Represents and promotes the campus through community engagement, strategic partnerships, and external initiatives.
    • Champions a belief in the potential of all students and employees, supporting strong outcomes through proactive leadership and support.
    • Ensures student success and satisfaction by analyzing retention trends, student needs, learning outcomes, program standards, and faculty support and development.
    • Collaborates with campus, programmatic, and functional leaders to execute initiatives; may delegate responsibilities but retains accountability for quality and results.
    • Leads continuous improvement efforts by developing and maintaining campus strategic priorities and analyzing performance data.
    • Ensures alignment with university initiatives by holding staff accountable for local execution and participation in university committees and governance.
    • Supports local initiatives such as Program Advisory Boards and ensures documentation and system expectations are consistently met.

                  Physical and Other Requirements:



                  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
                  • Ability to move about readily and rapidly, if necessary, around campus, classrooms, clinical settings, etc., to access classrooms, desks, students, office machinery, clinics, patients, etc.
                  • Constantly communicates using the spoken word with students, staff and colleagues.
                  • Visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess.
                  • Operate equipment specific to programmatic track, personal computer, audio-visual equipment, etc.
                  • Travel to off-site meetings or conferences or to observe students during clinical education at off-site clinical settings.
