As a Lab Technician at Clariant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of chemical products that our customers and operations depend on every day. Supporting both quality assurance and business performance for Clariant's Oil Services business, you will generate critical quality data across incoming and outgoing shipments, operate and maintain a range of laboratory instruments, and collaborate closely with operations and sales teams to uphold Clariant's high standards. This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $32.00/hr, a 5% annual bonus, 3 weeks of Paid Time Off, 3 floating holidays, and 8 paid holidays!


Responsibilities



  • Manage laboratory work in coordination with supervisor, performing physical and chemical property testing to assess and ensure product quality
  • Process samples and accurately document results for incoming and outgoing products in a timely manner
  • Assist in root cause analysis investigations in the event of product failures or quality deviations
  • Properly handle, label, and store samples in accordance with established procedures to prevent contamination or degradation
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure instruments remain in proper working condition
  • Uphold laboratory housekeeping standards, including managing inventory, filing documentation, and disposing of samples on schedule
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records of all laboratory data in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Model and uphold the highest safety practices at all times, adhering to all safe laboratory working requirements
  • Adapt to and implement new standard operating procedures as required to support evolving business and operational needs
  • Actively participate in team meetings, trainings, audits, and laboratory tours, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration



Requirements



  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • Entry level to 5 years of industry experience, or equivalent experience in an academic laboratory setting, preferred but not essential
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
