What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a Production Planning Control Specialist to join the 07567-1 PPVS Material Planning Team. Our team ensures delivery of production material and plans for and anticipates demand for various commodities (including mechanical, chemical, and electrical) and components across numerous PRTs, production and development floors and internal/external production customers. We do this by utilizing material requirements planning (MRP) to evaluate our supply chain, track on-hand and future inventory levels, monitor active orders and gather dependent demand from our customers to ensure production schedules and deliveries are met. Within this role you will initiate the procurement phase to purchase parts from external vendors, send out Government Furnished Materials (GFP), monitor the orders progress, collaborate with vendors, and ensure the material is received, inspected and delivered to their final customers. You will also integrate with each production area you support to better understand their production needs, incorporate their schedules/deliveries and assist with problem solving. The planner monitors, communicates, and reports to management the status of raw materials; proactively identifies issues that have the potential to impact the production build plan or the product development schedules, and works with appropriate personnel including technical and engineering staff, quality assurance personnel, procurement, and development product realization teams to mitigate risk and implement recovery plans as required.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Work with various production operations and product development organizations to develop, implement and execute material requirements planning (MRP) activities to support new product and development builds, internal production builds and external customer delivery schedules
  • Ensure the availability and flow of procured materials to our customers.
  • Monitor planned/open orders, create purchase requests to procurement, establish/manage safety stock levels, ensure the accuracy of MRP planning parameters (lead-times, yields, etc.), forecasting material demand, completing what-if analysis and establishing/monitoring materials budget.
  • Work with procurement, engineers, shipping and receiving, quality technologists, warehouse staff, inspection facilities and vendors to ensure materials are stocked and available for production needs.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
