Job Description

Rockwell Automation is looking for an analytical Chemist to join our Chemistry and Materials Engineering team. Working in a laboratory environment, you will analyze materials, and evaluate processing techniques used in industrial automation products. You'll operate advanced instruments, perform failure analysis, and collaborate with materials engineers and other chemists to provide solutions that improve product quality. You should have experience acquiring or interpreting laboratory data to improve manufacturing processes.

You will report to our Senior Manager, Chemistry and Materials and Product Performance Testing.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Operate and interpret data from instruments such as ICP-OES, UV/VIS, GC/MS, IC, IC/MS and FTIR.
  • Conduct root-cause failure analysis and material evaluations and provide clear, relevant reports.
  • Partner with materials engineers and use their data to supplement reports.
  • Conduct RoHS compliance testing using UV/VIS, ICP-OES and GC/MS and standardized test methods within an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
  • Collaborate with other teams to resolve material-related or material processing issues.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards, safety regulations, and hazardous waste handling procedures.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 10% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • Hands-on experience with,or understanding of the use of the data from analytical instruments.
  • Technical reporting and customer interaction.
  • Experience in an ISO17025 accredited laboratory
