Main Duties & Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality
and integrity of injection-molded products and secondary processes throughout
the production cycle. This role involves conducting product inspections,
monitoring equipment performance, and collaborating with the production team to
maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
Ability to work any of the 3 shifts. 1st Shift: 7:30am-4pm. 2nd Shift: 3:30pm-12am. 3rd Shift: 11:30pm-8am.
Specific
Responsibilities
- Perform first piece, last piece, and in-process inspections to ensure product conformity.
- Conduct capability studies as required to validate process performance.
- Maintain accurate inspection
records, document test results, and report non-conformance issues to
supervisors promptly. - Communicate and uphold the mission, principles, and vision of Omega Plastics and TriMas.
- Perform regular inspections using measuring tools and gauges to verify product quality according to specifications.
- Collaborate closely with machine operators to ensure ongoing compliance and quality throughout production.
- Assist in training new employees on quality standards, inspection procedures, and the use of measuring tools.
- Complete final audits as needed to verify product conformity before release.
- Execute pre- and post-line clearance activities to ensure a clean and compliant production environment.
- Ensure real-time updates and accurate population of Process Critical Parameter Records (PCPR) and Batch History Records (BHR), adhering to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Perform cleanroom pressure checks and other relevant environmental monitoring tasks as required.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams on troubleshooting efforts to address quality-related production issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to quality enhancements and process optimization.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the QC Manager,
aligned with the overall quality objectives of Omega Plastics.
Essential Functions:
Work performed in a manufacturing environment.
Normal mobility to move around a manufacturing environment, able to conduct
work at a press and computer. Frequently walks, stands, grips/grasps,
bends/stoops, crouches, and lifts and carries up to twenty-five (25) lbs.
On-Site: This role is required to be on-site 5-6 days at the Clinton Township, MI location.

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing is preferred.
- Proven experience in quality inspection or manufacturing, with a focus on injection molding.
- Familiarity with injection molding processes, equipment, and related inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the
ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Compensation
The expected pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.25/hour. Shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location.
