OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANYFox Corporation Under the FOX banner, we produce and distribute content through some of the world's leading and most valued brands, including: FOX News Media, FOX Sports, FOX Entertainment, FOX Television Stations and Tubi Media Group. JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director, Product & Platform Engineering will lead FOX's internal software product development and platform delivery for broadcast- and video-focused applications. This leader will own the multi-year roadmap and execution for building, launching, and operating internal software products that modernize live production workflows, improve reliability, and reduce long-term dependence on expensive third-party service agreements.

This role will manage a small team of engineers and technical product owners, drive delivery excellence across CI/CD and DevOps practices, and champion AI-assisted development to accelerate high-quality output. The Director will partner across Broadcast Engineering, Video Engineering, Site Reliability, Networking, and Media Infrastructure to ensure shared ownership boundaries are respected while FOX builds durable, in-house capabilities aligned to next-generation facility concepts (e.g., EBU DMF and MXL-aligned orchestration/control models). Furthermore, the role will collaborate with engineers across departments to refine ideas and ultimately take ownership of bringing them into production.

ABOUT YOU

  • You care about your team and their diverse perspectives and are invested in their success

  • You are excited by new technology and its potential to change how things are done

  • You have an entrepreneur's spirit and enjoy problem solving

  • You LOVE getting stuff done, not just talking about it!

  • You take ownership in your products and their success in the company

  • You can translate between broadcast operations, infrastructure, and software engineering with clarity and credibility

  • You build trust across organizations you don't directly manage

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the multi-year product strategy and portfolio roadmap for FOX's internal broadcast/video software products

  • Define success metrics (cost reduction, reliability, time-to-deliver, adoption) and ensure delivery ties to measurable outcomes

  • Prioritize a pipeline of high-value workflows where internal software provides clear ROI (automation, reliability, scale, vendor-cost offsets)

  • Establish readiness gates from POC pilot production, including risk reviews and operational sign-off criteria

Engineering Delivery & Operational Excellence

  • Own end-to-end delivery: requirements, design, implementation, CI/CD, testing, deployment, and operational support

  • Set engineering standards and governance (coding standards, review process, test discipline, release practices, security baselines)

  • Implement and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing, environment promotion, rollback strategy, and deployment automation

  • Champion AI-assisted development practices to improve velocity while maintaining quality and compliance

  • Ensure products are production-grade: observable, supportable, documented, and aligned to 24/7 operational realities

Cross-Functional Leadership & Partnerships

  • Act as the primary leader coordinating across Broadcast Engineering, Video Engineering, Monitoring & Control, Networking, and Media Infrastructure

  • Maintain clear ownership boundaries: Media Infrastructure owns compute/storage/K8s; your org owns software products and workflow logic

  • Align vendor partnerships to FOX's internal product roadmap (Holoscan ecosystem, MXL/control integration, distribution workflows)

  • Present status, risks, and roadmap updates to leadership with crisp communication and decision-ready framing

People Management & Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers and product/technical leads

  • Build a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and production ownership

  • Create career growth paths and coaching plans for engineers and technical product staff

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 7+ years experience delivering software products and/or platform services, including 3+ years in a leadership role (Director/Manager/Lead)

  • Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end product delivery (discovery launch operate) with measurable outcomes

  • Strong background in modern software delivery (CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, Git-based workflows, release governance)

  • Experience leading cross-functional programs across teams that do not report into you

  • Familiarity with broadcast or live media operational realities (master control/playout concepts, monitoring, live integration, reliability constraints)

  • Ability to turn operational needs into clear requirements, user stories, and delivery plans

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER

  • Experience with software-defined broadcast concepts (EBU DMF, containerized media functions, orchestration/control layers like MXL patterns)

  • Familiarity with IP media standards (ST 2110, NMOS, PTP)

  • Experience in cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP, containers, microservices, observability stacks)

  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining governance

  • Prior experience building internal platforms that reduce reliance on managed service agreements or vendor customizations
