DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position plays a key role in keeping electrical systems safe, reliable, and ready for use throughout Fort Indiantown Gap Airbase. The work supports the mission by ensuring uninterrupted power and proper system performance. As a Electrician 1, you will perform the following duties:
- System Maintenance: Perform recurring upkeep on electric power distribution systems and equipment to ensure dependable operation
- Electrical Troubleshooting: Identify problems in power and signal systems using testing devices and diagnostic methods
- Equipment Installation: Install and modify electrical systems and appliances according to required standards and guidance
- Safety Coordination: Work with facility occupants to plan power interruptions and maintain safe work environments
- Project Planning: Review plans, visit job sites, and determine materials, labor, and timelines for assigned tasks
- Emergency Response: Address urgent electrical issues during off duty hours to protect lives and property

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational changes.
- Overtime as needed
- This position is considered essential and will be required to work during emergencies and office closings.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap Air National Guard Airbase.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
