The Marketing Operations & Vendor Management role is responsible for leading the marketing operations and contract and vendor management deliverables, ensuring disciplined execution, strong governance, and effective vendor partnerships. This role ensures brand strategy and tactics are translated into disciplined execution of peer-to-peer programs, product theaters, advisory boards, and marketing sponsorships enabling marketing teams to execute efficiently, compliantly, and at scale. This role also enables the delivery of the broader US organizational plans by timely delivery and execution of US commercial contracts and management of vendors.

As a people leader with direct reports, this role manages Marketing Operations and Vendor Management resources and serves as a critical partner to Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, Field Force Enablement, Business Analytics, Finance, Legal, and Strategic Sourcing to enable execution across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Operations

  • Oversee operational planning and execution for peer-to-peer programs, product theaters, advisory boards, and marketing sponsorships, enabling efficient execution across brands and franchises.
  • Ensure compliant, ontime delivery across below key programs:
    • Rep-driven speaker bureaus (faculty strategy, program logistics, and execution tracking) and third party programs
    • Product theaters (endtoend congress planning, production coordination, and postevent followup)
    • Advisory boards (planning timelines, vendor oversight, and deliverables management)
    • Marketing sponsorships (opportunity intake, activation requirements, and performance/reporting coordination)

Contract and Vendor Management

  • Provide leadership oversight of contract and vendor management, ensuring:
    • Timely intake, management and execution of contracts and new vendor evaluation/ on-boarding
    • Clear best practices, governance, KPIs, and performance reviews
    • Active partnership with Legal, Strategic Sourcing and Finance on contracting, renewals, and cost management

Process Excellence & Governance

  • Own and continually refine marketing operational processes, SOPs, and governance
  • Develop and continually refine contract and vendor management best practices, in partnership with legal and strategic sourcing
  • Ensure alignment with MLR requirements, compliance and legal standards, and enterprise operating norms
  • Reduce friction and cycle time while maintaining rigorous controls

People Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead and develop teams responsible for marketing operations and vendor and contract management
  • Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance goals for direct reports
  • Build operational capability, bench strength, and succession depth
  • Foster a culture of accountability, partnership, and continuous improvement

  • Partner closely with:
    • Marketing leadership and brand teams
    • Business Analytics & Field Enablement
    • Market Access & Patient Services
    • Conventions and Meeting Planning Lead
    • Finance, Legal, and Strategic Sourcing

  • Direct management of Marketing Ops and Vendor Management team members

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred

Experience

  • 10-15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech organizations in:
    • Marketing and/ or commercial operations
    • Vendor or agency management
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing external vendors
  • Strong familiarity with marketing execution in regulated environments
