Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity by verifying credentials, observing visitor movement, and reporting irregularities in accordance with site protocols.
• Support daily operations by preparing reports, maintaining assigned post duties, and assisting with security-related requests while working in a range of indoor and/or outdoor conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 2 or more years of security-related experience.
• Be 21 or more years of age.
• Possess a current Virginia DCJS license.
• Baton certification is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
