Job Description




As a Security Officer Driving Entry Control in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will help manage access control, monitor activity, and conduct routine patrols that help to deter security-related incidents. In this driving post, you will interact with staff and visitors, support daily operations, and use strong communication and professionalism. Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and credentials, and help to control authorized access in accordance with post orders and security-related procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site leadership and/or public officials as needed.
  • Complete visitor processing activities such as sign-in documentation, screening support, and maintaining accurate access logs and incident reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observe for unusual activity and/or policy violations, and report concerns through proper channels.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with DPSS/DHS COLA requirements.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
