Job Description




As a Security Officer Morning Patrol in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to all site personnel, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a chemical and petrochemical environment.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual conditions in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, production-adjacent areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or visitor access as directed by site policies, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or hazards to the appropriate contacts.
  • Support Allied Universal and site personnel by preparing clear reports, maintaining accurate activity logs, and assisting with investigations related to incidents, property concerns, and/or policy compliance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be able to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Be available for last minute shift scheduling.
  • Be able to meet Branch Flex travel distance requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
