Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Attorney to join our Commercial Contracts team. This attorney will support customer-side contracts for our Electrical Sector, Americas business. The position is ideal for a candidate with a collaborative mindset and the skills to lead a wide range of commercial contract negotiations, while engaging with cross-functional teams including operations, finance, and business stakeholders. This role will report to the Senior Counsel, Commercial Contracts within the Law team. Client's Electrical Sector, Americas business operates in diverse and rapidly-evolving markets. Your appetite to build a deep understanding of our products and services will be key to providing strategic counsel and applying a creative approach to contract negotiations.
- As a Senior Attorney, Commercial Contracts, you will lead contracting efforts, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contracts to secure advantageous terms while identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risks for Client..
- This role requires providing pragmatic contractual guidance to our businesses across a variety of agreement types, including MPAs/MSAs, statements of work, end user license agreements, terms of service, brand label agreements, consulting agreements, and joint development agreements.
- You will also collaborate with internal organizations including Tax, Credit, Sales, Finance, Insurance and specialty practice areas within the Law team (e.g. Business Counsel, IP, EHS, etc.).
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to tailor your advice to the experience and perspective of your stakeholders will be key to your success.
Our Legal team is committed to continuous learning, exploring process and policy improvements, and courageously collaborating throughout the organization. More locally, the Contracts Organization is an ambitious team that works together to advance our skills in both the poetry (art of negotiation) and the plumbing (technical expertise) of contracting. Experience in dispute resolution is beneficial to increase insight into the downstream effects of contract negotiations.
JD degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in the United States
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience as an actively licensed attorney
*Proven track record of at least 7-10 years negotiating sell-side contracts efficiently and effectively while navigating various commercial and legal risk areas across a variety of markets/industries.
*Capability for tailoring legal advice and contractual solutions to the unique risks presented across Client's various end-markets and business segments.
*Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to visualize and communicate solutions.
*Detailed oriented, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently with a minimal level of supervision.
*Has excellent spoken and written communication skills and the ability to adapt the message to effectively share information with internal and external stakeholders.
*Effectively builds relationships at all levels of the organization and across stakeholders with different interest and perspectives.
*Works collaboratively in a team environment to advance the success of the group.
