SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

The Network Security Engineer II performs two core functions for the enterprise. The first is the day-to-day operations of Infrastructure Security systems while the second is the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise and cloud security solutions. Secondary tasks may include involvement in the incident response program, participation in architecture review, documenting system configurations, improving security posture, and operational process improvement. The Network Security Engineer II is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise's technology and security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures, and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures compliance with all bank policies and procedures as well as state, federal, and regulatory requirements.

  • Operational Management:

    • Configure, support, and maintain On-Prem and Cloud Security Environments including NextGen Firewalls, WAF, SDWAN, VPN, and SSL Decryption technologies.

    • Solve complex technical problems through engineering, including requirements analysis, design, development, implementation, and testing.

    • Understand, analyze, and correlate technical vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures to mitigate them.

    • Maintain operational configurations of infrastructure security systems as per the established baselines.

    • Provide on-call support for end users for all infrastructure security systems.

  • Acquisition & Deployment

    • Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT Security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.

    • Recommend additional solutions or enhancements to existing infrastructure security systems to improve overall enterprise security.

    • Research, evaluate, and stay current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.

    • Participate in multiple projects or department initiatives simultaneously.

    • Assist in the development and implementation of internal IT Security projects.

  • Accepts other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Information Security, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field

  • Experience: Ten (10) or more years of Information Technology Experience. Five (5) or more years of Network Security Experience.

  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Good interpersonal skills, good computer skills, ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Proficiency in Internet Protocols, Virtual Private Networks, IPSec, Next Generation Firewalls, and Zero Trust Architecture. One or more of the following Information Security Certifications preferred: CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, GCED, GDSA, GCCC, PCNSA, CCNA Security, Security+

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

  • New Employee Orientation

  • Required annual compliance training

  • Twenty (20) hours of Cybersecurity related training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.

In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $85,153.00 - $136,024.00 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
