Join American Ordnance as a Projects Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in designing and delivering innovative equipment-related projects ranging from minor enhancements to complete production cells. In this dynamic position, you will collaborate closely with process engineers, facilities teams, and project managers to accurately define scopes and successfully deliver projects that align with strategic manufacturing goals. Your expertise will contribute to streamlining operations and driving continuous improvement in production capabilities, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and sustainability throughout the lifecycle of each project.

As a Projects Engineer, here's the work you'll do:
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of capital projects, overseeing all phases from initial design and planning to installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced manufacturing equipment and production cells.
  • Develop comprehensive project scopes and technical specifications; manage procurement processes including equipment sourcing and vendor selection to ensure top-quality materials and services.
  • Prepare detailed capital estimates and forecasts to secure project approvals and maintain budgetary control;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop safe and efficient processing parameters and operating procedures that support manufacturing excellence.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for automation and continuous process improvements, championing innovative solutions that increase productivity, reduce costs, and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects by allocating resources, coordinating professional services, contractors, and construction teams to meet project timelines.
  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis of recurring equipment issues, providing durable solutions that minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Ensure all projects comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, contributing to a secure and responsible workplace.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support evolving organizational objectives and operational priorities.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Strong technical proficiency in engineering principles, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively both in writing and verbally to diverse audiences, including leading group meetings and project teams.
  • Exceptional project management skills, capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks to meet stringent deadlines and foster ongoing process enhancements.
  • A motivated self-starter attitude with a hands-on approach to bringing innovative ideas to life through design, development, and implementation.
  • Passion for operational excellence, demonstrated by eagerness to initiate new equipment startup processes and train colleagues to ensure smooth production runs.
  • Capacity to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance when required, enhancing collaboration on sensitive or classified projects.
And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Engineering Required
  • 5+ years Production and project related experience with automated processes for discreet manufacturing Required

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $93,000 - $140,400. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
