The University of Virginia's number one ranked Department of Student Health and Wellness (SHW) provides a comprehensive range of medical, mental health, well-being, and disability support services to all enrolled undergraduate and graduate students. The University of Virginia's Medical Services, a unit within the Department of Student Health and Wellness, is seeking a Registered Nurse 2. Registered Nurse 2 employees plan and provide professional nursing services and patient care in outpatient settings. They ensure compliance with physician orders and follow established nursing processes, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. They exercise judgment and decision making in their daily work. Work is somewhat independent and performed according to established protocols. Responsibilities include:
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor's of Science degree, or Associate's Degree in Nursing & Diploma in Nursing Experience: Two years of experience as an RN. Emergency room or ambulatory care experience is typical. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. About the Position The anticipated hiring range for this position is $38-$43/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling (distance: 1 - 2 miles/day), climbing (steps) and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. This position is located on the UVA Grounds in Charlottesville, VA.
