The Molecular Immunologic and Translational Sciences (MITS) Core at the University of Virginia is seeking a motivated and eager-to-learn Lab Specialist. This role involves providing technical support for assays, including sample staining. Primary responsibilities include maintaining equipment, performing slide imaging, and assisting with or conducting image analysis projects. The ideal candidate is willing to learn, comfortable working on-site at UVA, and able to spend extended periods working at a computer. Candidates should be proficient with Windows-based computer systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with R is a plus but not required. Key responsibilities include:
Minimum Requirements:
Physical Demands: This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation. Anticipated salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
