Minimum Qualifications	High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications	High school diploma required with some college education preferred. Experience in laboratory, greenhouse, and aseptic technique is preferred.
Position Summary	A Research Technician will assist with projects and tasks in the laboratory, greenhouse, and office to support a plant genomics research laboratory. This new position will be responsible for laboratory and greenhouse work with a diverse set of plant species. The employee will be responsible for preparing culture media, reagents, buffers, and other solutions. Employee will be responsible for performing tissue culture and maintaining collections of clonally propagated plants.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies	Proficiency in laboratory, greenhouse, and aseptic technique Strong organizational skills, basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.), and the ability to effectively communicate and multitask Meticulous, punctual, and reliable Strong attention to detail Knowledge of basic plant life cycle and genetics Competency of basic laboratory techniques Knowledge of lab protocols and equipment
