What to Expect
The Cell Quality Team is a specialized R&D group focused on ensuring reliability across incoming materials, production processes, and field performance of Li-ion cells. This role focuses on designing, building, andmaintainingsoftware systems and automation tools to support cell quality workflows, data integrity, and cross-functional collaboration. The engineer will lead the development of scalable applications, APIs, and data pipelines that enablecell testing andfailure analysis workflows. The ideal candidate will combine strong data engineering skills with a focus on automation, data systems, and cross-functional project leadership. This role directly enables the Cell Quality team's mission by delivering robust software tools that accelerate failure analysis, reduce field returns, andmaximize the performance of Tesla's battery products.

What You'll Do
  • Own the design, development, and optimization of scalable data infrastructure and ETL pipelines to process large-scale analytical data efficiently

  • Build andmaintaininternal applications for data entry, analysis, and reporting-prioritizing user experience, performance, and adaptability

  • Design and implement datavalidation,auditing, and state-tracking systems toensureaccuracy and reliabilityincelltesting processes

  • Build CI/CD workflows, intelligent indexingsystems, and automationtoolsthatincrease testing throughput and data accessibility

  • Partner closely withtechnicians andengineers to translate complextestingrequirements intointuitive, scalable technical solutions,and provide continuous user support


What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, relevant STEM disciplines, or equivalent expereince

  • Proven experiencedesigning and building toolswithPython and SQLinlarge scale/production environments

  • StrongproficiencyinReact, TypeScript, and modernJavaScriptfor building efficient and responsiveuser-facing tools

  • Experiencewith Docker/Kubernetesfor containerization and orchestration

  • Exceptional organizational skillsandoutstandingwrittenandverbal communicationabilities-able to bridgetechnical and non-technicalaudiencestoresolve issues and improve user experience

  • Strong ownership mindset, meticulousattention to detail,andagenuinedesire to deeply understand systems and processes
