What to Expect
The Associate Workplace Health Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating care for employees with work-related injuries and illnesses for the sales, service, and delivery business. This role ensures timely and accurate documentation, compliance with OSHA record keeping requirements, and effective case management to support employee recovery and safe return to work. The Workplace Health Specialist serves as a key liaison between employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and workers' compensation representatives to promote a healthy and safe workplace.
What You'll Do
- Manage and monitor cases involving employee work-related injuries and illnesses from initial report through closure
- Maintain correspondence with injured employees including answering questions and explaining the workers' compensation process and facilitate communication between stakeholders
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records in accordance with OSHA, HIPAA, and company standards
- Complete and maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs; ensure accurate determination of recordable cases
- Diffuse challenging situations involving individuals with questions and concerns related to workplace injuries, and escalating when appropriate
- Facilitate timely return-to-work and coordinate transitional modified duty positions
- Participate in incident investigations by gathering employee/witness statements, collecting information, and tracking data from various stakeholders
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Health Administration, or Risk Management, or equivalent experience
- Able to enter, organize, track, and export data within online health information systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data management and analysis
- Able to influence and communicate effectively with supervisors and associates
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable in an environment where demands and priorities change rapidly and enjoys working in a fast-paced, high growth environment
