Solar Maintenance Technician, Carpenter

The Tesla Team is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Construction Carpenter, who has demonstrated experience in all phases of Residential Construction.

The Maintenance Carpenter, Residential Energy Service will be part of Tesla Energy Residential Service Team. The Maintenance Carpenter will work collaboratively with team members and individually to successfully complete various forms of residential construction maintenance service projects. The ideal candidate will continuously model Tesla standards for excellence and adhere to policy compliance, meeting quality standards, safety protocols, and achieving efficiency goals.

• Complete various scopes of residential construction projects including, but not limited to, dry-wall, texture match, dry-rot repair, painting, roofing, structural framing, and electrical work, as needed
• Calculate material takeoffs, perform all aspects of repair, and adhere to project completion timelines
• Interface directly with Internal Scheduling Teams, Tesla Management and Tesla Energy Customer base
• Partner with internal stakeholders to maintain templates for operational flow efficiency and standards for future projects
• Maintain high quality of safety and construction standards
• Attend weekly team meetings and mandatory training sessions on new products, service methodology, and safety
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Ability to safely handle tools and materials commonly found in the construction and solar industries, such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
• Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals with the willingness to spend a high percentage of time in the field as needed to complete objectives with as little impact to the customer
• Excellent written and verbal communication with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and other computer software systems/applications. Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
• Travel is mandatory and will vary dependent on business need. Employees must be able to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time, several times a year, to various locations within the US
• Valid Driver's License Required
• Physical Requirements include ability to work at great heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders, and stairs. Must be able to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, attic etc.) Prolonged periods of repetitious physical duties including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time as well as be able to lift at least 50 pounds frequently. The ability to climb and utilize equipment on site including various ladders rated for a maximum capacity of 325lbs and must be able to meet equipment standards for fall protection (harness, anchor, ropes, etc.) with a maximum capacity of 310bs
• Minimum of 3 year of general construction experience up to Journeyman level experience in all phases of Residential Construction. Vocational or technical school training or previous related experience preferred
