"I can succeed as a Senior DevSecOps Engineer at Capital Group."

As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer within Capital Group's Application Security team, you will help build the next generation of application security capabilities. We are developing features agentically and at pace, using AI-assisted engineering to accelerate delivery, improve solution quality, and create capabilities that are not readily available in the market today.

This role goes well beyond operating security tools or scheduling scans. You will have opportunities to design and engineer solutions across the Application Security lifecycle, including automated threat modeling, material-change detection, context-aware security assessments, and emerging model-based security testing. You will work alongside application security specialists, developers, platform engineers, and cybersecurity teams to turn new ideas into scalable solutions that help developers build secure software more quickly.

The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on DevOps engineering experience, a track record of designing, building, and operating complex technical solutions, and a genuine interest in agentic software development. The role offers significant room to deepen both AI engineering and application security expertise while helping shape capabilities at the forefront of modern software security.

What you will do

  • Own DevSecOps solutions end to end, including design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and improve services and tools that make application security capabilities easy for developers and engineers to use.
  • Use agentic software development practices to accelerate feature delivery and improve solution quality.
  • Simplify and automate integrations across CI/CD pipelines, cloud services, infrastructure, and applications.
  • Provide technical leadership, set engineering standards, and direct contractor delivery while remaining hands-on with implementation.
  • Partner with developers, product managers, infrastructure engineers, Cloud Security, and broader InfoSec teams to move ideas from requirements to reliable solutions.
  • Improve engineering outcomes through high-quality tool output, false-positive reduction, meaningful metrics, and continuous feedback.
  • Help evolve capabilities for automated threat modeling, material-change detection, context-aware assessments, and model-based security testing.
  • Communicate technical findings, business risk, and remediation requirements clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Research emerging engineering practices, technologies, and tactics, and apply relevant improvements to our platforms and delivery processes.
  • Partner with teams to define key performance indicators and measures of solution quality, reliability, and adoption.

"I am the person Capital Group is looking for"

Strong hands-on DevOps engineering experience: including CI/CD, Kubernetes, containers, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, Ansible, and modern engineering platforms.

Hands-on Python and AWS expertise: with the ability to personally build, automate, deploy, and operate solutions. This is not a coordination-only role.

End-to-end ownership and technical leadership: with experience taking complex solutions from design through implementation, operation, and continuous improvement while guiding others and directing contractor delivery.

Interest in agentic software development: including developing agentic skills that accelerate feature delivery and improve solution quality.

Strong communication and collaboration skills: with the ability to work across teams, influence technical direction, and clearly explain risks and remediation needs.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience: with at least seven years of relevant information technology or engineering experience preferred.

Application security knowledge is valuable: and the role provides opportunities to deepen expertise beyond pipeline scanning and tool operation.
