Patient Registration Representative - Sanford, ME (On-Site)

$3,000 sign-on bonus available (prorated for part-time)
Not eligible: per diem, current employees, or former employees within 6 months.

Join a supportive, close-knit team in Sanford, Maine-just a short drive to Southern Maine's beaches, lakes, and outdoor recreation.

In this entry-level role within the Sanford Wound Clinic, you'll serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, helping guide them through their healthcare experience from the moment they arrive. You'll play a vital role both at the front desk and behind the scenes, supporting a seamless patient journey through a combination of administrative coordination and direct collaboration with clinical teams.

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Rotating Saturday shifts every 7 weeks

What You'll Do

  • Act as the primary office administrator for daily clinic operations
  • Check patients in and out, verify information, and schedule follow-up appointments
  • Contact patients to confirm new patient evaluations
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls with patients and referring providers
  • Use a virtual fax system to send and process documents from internal and external facilities
  • Partner closely with clinical staff to ensure a smooth handoff between patient care and administrative processes
  • Coordinate with the authorization team to ensure referrals are approved prior to or at the time of service

This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting, working with diverse patient populations while helping maintain continuity of care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Related experience in healthcare or customer service is preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Computer and data entry experience is required with Microsoft Word, e-mail, and internet communication, as well as the ability to work accurately and effectively with electronic systems.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
