What to Expect
Tesla Energy Manufacturing is deploying AI tools across our global production network, from cell manufacturing and battery assembly to warehousing and logistics operations. We are looking for a Product Manager, AI Adoption to support the rollout, adoption, and continuous improvement of AI-powered manufacturing tools across our Energy facilities.
In this role, you will coordinate cross-functional deployments, conduct user research on the production floor, run internal innovation programs, and track adoption outcomes across multiple organizational layers, from frontline technicians and supervisors to business office teams and site leadership. You will work closely with software engineers, manufacturing operations leaders, and site teams to ensure our AI tools land effectively and generate measurable impact. This is an early-career role for someone who is organized, curious about manufacturing and AI, and energized by working directly with the people and systems on the factory floor.
What You'll Do
- Run the operating rhythm of AI adoption programs across Energy manufacturing sites: milestone tracking, stakeholder coordination, and deployment scheduling
- Execute phased adoption programs across organizational layers (frontline supervisors and technicians, business and office functions, and site leadership), tailoring rollout playbooks to each audience
- Conduct user research on the production floor: operator interviews, shift walk-throughs, and structured feedback sessions; synthesize findings into actionable product improvements that engineering can act on
- Own the AI adoption product roadmap end-to-end: define problem statements, write product requirements, prioritize against user impact and business outcomes, and make tradeoff calls with engineering
- Build and maintain adoption dashboards and program health metrics: weekly active users, training completion, and outcome KPIs across every deployment site
- Build product partnerships across engineering, production, quality, factory software, EHS, and supply chain (your internal customers) to secure sponsorship, unblock launches, and earn the right to expand
- Run discovery programs such as cross-functional hackathons to surface new product ideas from the field, validate concepts fast, and convert the strongest pilots into roadmap commitments
- Design the activation experience: onboarding flows, in-product guides, training content, and deployment playbooks that turn first-time users into power users and compound every rollout
- Communicate product strategy, release outcomes, site status, and adoption performance through clear program updates and cross-functional briefings to engineering teams and manufacturing leadership
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 0-3 years of experience in product management, program management, operations, or a related field; manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus
- Genuine interest in AI tools and how they can improve manufacturing operations; prior hands-on experience is not required, but demonstrated curiosity and a willingness to learn quickly are essential
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, track milestones across sites, and communicate progress clearly to diverse stakeholders
- Comfort conducting user research and translating qualitative feedback from factory-floor operators into structured product insights and requirements
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; you can write a crisp status update for a senior leader and a practical how-to guide for a production technician, and you know the difference
- Data literacy sufficient to read dashboards, interpret production KPIs, and work with engineering and operations teams to define and track meaningful adoption metrics
- Ability to operate with composure in a fast-moving production environment where priorities shift with output targets and ramp schedules
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time to Tesla manufacturing sites to support on-the-ground deployments
