About the Role (Job Summary)

The Central Fill/CFaaS Pharmacy Technician supports high volume, centralized prescription fulfillment operations by performing technical duties that ensure accurate, safe, and efficient drug preparation and packaging. This role is responsible for processing incoming prescription orders from affiliated pharmacies, operating automated dispensing and packaging equipment, managing inventory within assigned work areas, and upholding all regulatory and company standards for medication handling. What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Process prescription orders and ensure accuracy in medication dispensing.

  • Support pharmacists in medication therapy management and patient counseling.

  • Maintain proper documentation and comply with regulatory guidelines.

  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications.

  • Respond to patient and provider inquiries professionally and efficiently.

  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy best practices.

Basic Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or state license as required.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy setting.

  • Proficiency in pharmacy software and prescription processing systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Associate degree in pharmacy technology or related field.

  • Experience with clinical pharmacy services or medication therapy management.

  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and data entry.

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Description of Travel or In-Office and Physical Requirements

This position is primarily in-office with minimal travel required. You will be working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment, which may require standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and performing repetitive tasks such as data entry and medication handling. Safety protocols and ergonomic practices are followed to ensure a comfortable workspace.

In periods of high demand, there may be instances where associates are required to work beyond their scheduled hours to ensure timely delivery of medications and healthcare products. Schedules are typically sharedin advance with enough lead time to support planning, as operational needs allow, but no later than the Wednesday prior to the following week, in accordance with the CBA.
