POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mass Market and Monthly Giving Specialist curates content and executes monthly giving, canvassing, direct mail, telemarketing, and some peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns. We're seeking an experienced direct response fundraiser with strong donor-focused storytelling and project management skills. This person is a proficient copyeditor and speaker, who brings precision and care to content with an eye for accuracy, tone, and fundraising best practices. The role requires a solutions-oriented, collaborative project manager who thrives in a cross-functional environment to align stakeholders and ensure all deliverables and deadlines are met.

Core responsibilities include optimizing the recurring giving program and sustainer journey across digital and offline channels, conducting regular canvasser trainings, ensuring smooth direct mail and telemarketing campaign execution, contributing to strategy development, supporting campaign content, coordinating copy and creative reviews, and managing day-to-day communication with agencies. You'll play a central role in growing a high-impact fundraising program, supporting multiple channels, building meaningful donor experiences, and driving revenue for lifesaving work.

** Position is expected to be in Project HOPE's Washington, DC office min. 2-3 days/week (or more depending on key projects).

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monthly Giving & Canvassing Programs



  • Execute sustainer campaigns across digital (email, SMS, website, paid ads) and offline channels (direct mail, canvassing, telemarketing), by managing vendor communications and deliverables, routing strategies and copy for review, tracking canvassing markets, and developing donation forms.


  • Support initiatives to strengthen monthly giving strategies, data, processes, and donor journeys.


  • Optimize the sustainer experience across channels by writing, reviewing, and refining messaging, maintaining evergreen communications, and partnering with Donor Services, fundraising teams, and agency partners to improve donor processes and donor interactions.


  • Compile content, maintain a working knowledge of our programs and stories, and partner closely with the Marketing and Public Relations Teams to develop donor-facing materials.


  • Create engaging canvasser training presentations, regularly lead and speak at trainings for canvassers, and provide ongoing support and engagement opportunities for canvassers.

Direct Mail, Telemarketing and Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Support



  • Support the Associate Director, Direct Response and Donor Advancement by executing offline direct mail, telemarketing, and printed acknowledgement campaigns, including during emergency fundraising moments.


  • Gather content and testimonials, fact check, support audience versioning, route copy and art for review, review final proofs for accuracy, and ensure deadlines are met at each stage of production.


  • Support the Events & Community Engagement Manager on peer-to-peer/DIY and streaming initiatives, including project management, creative reviews and coordination, and fundraiser outreach and stewardship.


  • Maintain campaign calendars for direct response and P2P campaigns, donor and fundraiser journeys, team project roadmaps, and key documentation.


  • Support data needs, donor record updates, state registration, and logging donation URLs and codes.


  • Manage and ship inventory for mid-level, sustainer stewardship, canvasser appreciation, and P2P events.


  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • BA/S in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit or Project Management, or relevant field/experience.


  • 2-4 years of experience in fundraising and/or monthly giving, canvassing, direct mail, or related field.


  • 2 years of experience managing projects from planning to completion in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and execution skills.


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - both written and oral.


  • Experience with professional interactions; Self-starter with an ability to take initiative, work independently, build productive relationships remotely, and collaborate effectively.


  • Experience with MS Office, Email, and/or other relevant software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience partnering with and communicating with multiple vendors and/or teams.


  • Experience with fundraising CRMs such as Fundraise Up, Raisers Edge NXT or eCRMs (we use Acoustic).


  • Experience with project management tools like Asana and Microsoft Share Point.


  • Experience with MS Excel, spreadsheets, data files, fundraising reports, and/or key performance indicators.

  • The employee must be mobile in an office environment and able to use standard office equipment.


  • Must be able to communicate in verbal and written form and ability to travel in the U.S. 2-4 times per year.

Work environment:



  • Typical office environment with exposure to a minimal noise level.

  • Travel for extended periods may be by air and/or other modes of transportation.

Salary range starting at $60,000 -65,000 per year. Compensation for the role is dependent on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
