JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS We are searching for an individual to serve in the capacity of a field experience supervisor. This academic position is part-time for one semester and full-time for one semester. This academic position involves supervising our field experience students in secondary English education (7-12). Your responsibilities will include (1) observing a cohort of up to 15 students in schools within a 70-mile radius of University Park, (2) conferring with mentor teachers, (3) assessing student work, (4) attending monthly supervisor meetings at University Park, (5) conducting a weekly seminar for your cohort of students at University Park, (6) adhering to the course syllabus provided, (7) holding three-way assessment conferences with each student and mentor at the mid-point and at the end of the experience, and (8) recommending a final grade for the course. Either certification in the specific teaching area or certification as a school administrator is required; Five (5) years of successful teaching or administrative/supervisory experience in basic education and experience in supervising student teachers are strongly preferred. The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
