General Summary of Position:

Postdoctoral position to oversee project to develop electrical connectors for e-textiles, including organizing and leading team meetings, performing tests, organizing and acquiring needed machinery, and writing reports.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Report Preparation and Writing (15%)
2. Testing and Analysis (75%)
3. Laboratory Organization including preparation and revision of SOPs, laboratory organization tasks and training (10%)

MINIMUM Qualifications (Required):
Education:



  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, or another related field (e.g., Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering) by time of appointment


Experience:



  • Minimum five years of experience (including MS and PhD. research experience) in research.


Skills:



  • Knowledge of electrical testing
  • Motivation and self-direction
  • Exemplary problem-solving, as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Eligibility to work legally in the United States
  • A track record of scholarly research
  • Ability to work with the research team which includes undergraduate and graduate students
  • Strong technical report writing and communication skills.


Additional Considerations:



  • Expertise in mechanics, experience setting up and running laboratory tests, and program management

This position is full-time, benefited and in the Grace union. Anticipated salary based on the PD range minimum: $50,000, 25th quartile of $56,500 and midpoint of $63,000.

This position is contingent upon funding, and is funded for 5.5 months contingent on productivity, successful performance, and the availability of funding. This position may be extended based on these contingencies.
