The Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory Safety Training group is seeking an experienced, energetic, and motivated candidate with a passion for providing quality training in safety and industrial hygiene topical areas. As part of the instructor team, you will help to ensure a safe work environment for our employees and to bolster the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program's commitment to occupational safety & health. This position requires a firm understanding of work practices along with developing an understanding of requirements, researching the topical area (including collaborating with Subject Matter Experts). You will develop and deliver engaging training materials, by a variety of means, and document all aspects of the training cycle. Depending on the program taught, there may also be written and/or hands-on (practical) examinations to be developed and administered. The selected candidate requires the ability to work and excel in a team environment collaborating with instructors both locally and across the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) to Advance Safety, Teamwork and Learning. Must be a self-starter with a "Customer First" approach. Additional job responsibilities will include:
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
High school diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Education, technical, engineering; or science related field and 11 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education, technical, engineering or science related field and 9 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Education, technical, engineering or science related field and 7 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in Education, technical, engineering or science related field and 3 years of relevant experience. Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range
$106,200.00 - $166,000.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
