POOL - Instructor - Business Analytics & Information Systems

Instructors serve as either part-time or full-time members of the faculty in the School of Business. FTE is determined by the course load. Instructors are a non-tenure track faculty position. Teaching assignments may include undergraduate and/or graduate courses offered by the School of Business on the Lawrence Campus, off campus programs, and/or online programs.

Applications will be reviewed and placed in a pool to be considered for teaching positions as needed. Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Appointments are one semester, renewable, subject to review and funding . The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.

The Instructor is a union covered position within the collective bargaining unit represented by United Academics of KU, AFT-AAUP, AFL-CIO; UAKU is the exclusive bargaining representative. As the State of Kansas is a right to work state, you have the right to be a member or not to be a member of the union without fear of personal or professional repercussions.

100% Teaching. Teach one or more courses in Business Analytics or Information Systems. Courses may be required or electives, in undergraduate or graduate programs, and range from 1-4 credit hours. Duties include but are not limited to: course preparation, instruction, consultations, and assignment of grades. Instructors should abide by the area's, School's and University's policies and procedures.

For undergraduate courses:

1. Master's degree in relevant discipline or closely related field.
2. A demonstrated record of teaching in an academic setting or a record of mentorship, leadership or training experience in a professional setting.

For master's level courses, meets one of the following combinations of education and professional experience:

1. A terminal degree/professional degree in relevant discipline, OR a master's degree plus seven years of relevant experience.
2. A demonstrated record of teaching, training, research, scholarship or professional achievement.
