Who we are looking for:

Unistrut Construction, a division of Atkore, is a specialty subcontractor providing structural solutions for the Healthcare, Data Center, and Commercial Construction markets. We are looking to add a Regional Sales Manager - Texas to our team. Based in the Texas area and reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this role will build relationships with general contractors and subcontractors to help grow our business, with a focus on driving revenue in key markets.

Working with our estimating and project management teams, you will identify new opportunities and present solutions utilizing Unistrut Construction's design, engineering, fabrication, and installation services. This role requires achieving sales targets, negotiating deals, and collaborating with the team to grow the region.

What you'll do:

Own all areas of the sales cycle including:



  • Find opportunities using Dodge, Medical Construction Data, or similar networks.
  • Reach out to both general and sub-contractors to solicit opportunities.
  • Find scope by reading blueprints and clarifying questions (RFIs) with customers.
  • Assist our estimators on developing bids and delivering quotes.
  • Negotiate and close deals through contracts.
  • Support our top-level strategic priorities for growth. Namely, partner with OEM and Data Center sales teams to win targeted projects.
  • When needed do physical "walks" of construction sites to clarify scope and safety standards.


What you'll bring:

The ideal candidate will have five or more years of construction sales, project management, or estimating experience, ideally in Texas with established customer relationships in healthcare or data centers. Additionally:



  • Possess a technical aptitude and comfort in understanding blueprints and specifications.
  • Understanding of the general construction engineer bid tender process.
  • Comfort building out estimates and quotes.
  • Operate with a significant amount of autonomy while remaining accountable for results
  • Ability to travel 50% of time and critical to the position.


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete the Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy and how you interact with the other members of the team.
  • Reach out to GCs in your region, introduce yourself, solicit opportunities, and use Salesforce to record and hand off to estimating.


Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Find new projects and call customers to get invitations to bid
  • Read blueprints, document our scope, and deliver bids
  • Negotiate and win projects
  • Build and grow relationships with customers and influencers


Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Understand the unique dimensions of your territory; Competition, our relative strengths and weaknesses, what are the various health care systems, pricing, etc.
  • Know how to apply our value proposition to move out of "bid" lists and into partnerships
  • Have insights into the largest projects in the region and if they are worth pursuing
  • Grow the region in both book-and-turn business and major projects.
  • Know where to bid on work that is a good fit and distinguish
  • Know how increase profitability of the region by knowing where we can increase price

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $94,640 - $130,130. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
