DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will provide vital administrative and clerical support that ensures BSF program operations run efficiently and effectively. Your work will help support programs that assist people across the Commonwealth. Duties include the following:
- Administrative Support: Provide general clerical and administrative support for daily operations, department-wide programs and projects; help provide technical training to staff
- Process Management: Create, organize, update, and maintain all Special Funds procedure manuals, process maps, and related documents; research and analyze other states' processes and procedures; and identify and recommend internal changes based on findings
- Report Tasks: Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports; analyze to identify trends, discrepancies, and abnormalities
- Public Outreach: Create letters, memos, and newsletters to provide the public with educational information about WCSF and related programs
- Fiscal Assistance: Support budget preparation and prepare preliminary estimates; determine cause of rejected, missing, and uncashed payments and independently resolve
- Communications Liaison: Answer phone calls and email inquiries regarding Special Funds processes and functions; prepare correspondence

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
