THE POSITION

Join a team of hard-working individuals at the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Bureau of Financial Management. We are looking for a self-starter to provide outstanding leadership to a team of Budget Analyst 2s. In the role of Budget Analyst 3, you will have the opportunity to guide important financial decisions and support services that help individuals and families every day. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position plays an important part in building and reviewing budgets that guide major services within the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. The role supports planning, analysis, and coordination across several program offices. As a Budget Analyst 3, you will perform the following duties:

  • Budget Planning: Support the creation and review of yearly budgets for multiple program offices
  • Financial Review: Examine requests, financial data, and documents to help guide budget decisions
  • Revenue Projection: Estimate funding levels from state partners and county sources
  • Team Oversight: Guide and review the work of Budget Analyst 2 staff
  • Data Preparation: Prepare charts, reports, and summaries used for financial evaluations
  • Coordination Work: Work with agency partners to gather information needed for major budget submissions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to two days per week after six months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Budget Analyst 2; or

  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in technical budget administration work; and a bachelor's degree; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
