DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles, construction equipment, and powered tools used in transportation work. The job combines hands-on mechanical tasks with safety responsibilities and accurate documentation. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:
- Equipment Maintenance: Carry out preventive service and repair tasks on vehicles, powered hand tools, and construction equipment
- Vehicle Repairs: Complete work on engines, cooling systems, electrical systems, suspension, steering, and driveline systems
- Safety Inspections: Perform official state safety and emissions inspections and complete required records
- Field Service: Respond to breakdowns and perform repairs or adjustments outside the garage as needed
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate service logs and provide parts information to support proper purchasing
- Workplace Safety: Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and take steps to prevent accidents
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Travel, overtime and shift work required. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $48,841.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
- This position requires possession of a valid Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
