DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position plays an important role in keeping hospital buildings clean, orderly, and safe for everyone. The work focuses on routine cleaning tasks across many areas of the facility. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Facility Cleaning: Clean patient areas, restrooms, hallways, offices, and other assigned spaces
- Floor Care: Strip, wax, sweep, mop, and maintain floors of various types
- Equipment Use: Operate, clean, and maintain housekeeping tools and equipment
- High and Low Cleaning: Clean walls, windows, ceilings, vents, curtains, and blinds as needed
- Outdoor Upkeep: Sweep entryways and gazebos and remove trash from outdoor areas
- Linen Handling: Unpack, sort, and distribute linens to designated locations

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule will include rotating holidays and weekends; you will work approximately every fourth weekend with designated days off during the week. This schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime and travel: As needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
